In addition to providing the materials for a beautiful post & beam home, Timberpike Contractors can assist you in all phases of home building. This includes finding property, price planning, custom design, specification, financing and finding a qualified builder

At the initial on-site meeting, we'll discuss your building needs and budget. After this visit a set of sketches will be drawn, with cost estimates to complete this project.  Once sketches are completed TIMBERPEG® will develop Construction Plans, which are used for final revisions, price quotes, and the final plans, which are used for building permits, frame production and construction.

Of course, building a house requires more than a set of plans and a schedule. We also need to consider site conditions, codes, utility services, sub-division covenants, roads, drainage, material options, engineering, contractors, and your special wants and needs. As a local independent representative, Timberpike Contractors will assist in addressing all these issues.
Our goal is to see you living in the TIMBERPEG ® home of your dreams.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I talk to other TIMBERPEG ® home owners?
A: Yes. We will be happy to introduce you to other TIMBERPEG ® home owners so that you can discuss their home building experience with them. We can also supply testimonial letters.

Q: Am I limited to the plans featured in your Design Portfolio?
A: No. Over 95% of the homes we produce are custom-designed. Often this is a variation on a theme from our Design Portfolio developed with your Independent Representative. However, we can also design a TIMBERPEG ® home that's entirely customized for you.

Q: What is included in the TIMBERPEG ® package?
A: Our packages include well-detailed blueprints, a mortise-and-tenoned timber frame, hand-split cedar shakes (or an alternative) for roofing, clear cedar siding and trim, windows, exterior doors (Andersen or Loewen) interior finish for exterior walls and roof, sub-floor/ceiling decking between levels, insulation for exterior walls and roof, any required blocking and strapping, all fasteners, and on-site instruction for assembly by the local contractor. The components we provide include virtually everything necessary for the finished exterior of the building.

Q: Can I buy only a frame from Timberpeg ®?
A: No, not usually. Our components and details have been carefully selected and engineered to work together as a complete building system. We offer several optional components and can accommodate other selected materials and custom details as part of the TIMBERPEG ® package.

Q: Do you use structural insulated panels (also called SIPs, or stress skin panels)?
A: Yes, we can supply SIPs if a customer wants them. About 10 percent of our buildings use SIPs, the majority of our builders use a site built wrap and strap system.  This wrap and strap system has proven to be very cost effective and produces a minimal amount of waste of materials.

Q: Who will build our TIMBERPEG ® home?
A: Your general contractor will do all of the site work and the foundation. Next, he or she will erect the frame with technical assistance from Timberpike Contractors, your Timberpeg ® Independent Representative. Finally, the contractor will enclose and finish your home.

Q: How long does it take to build a TIMBERPEG ® home?
A: Raising the frame usually takes about one week, then the house is made weather-tight within 2 to 4 weeks. The amount of time needed to complete the home will depend on your choice of amenities, but usually takes 5 to 8 months.

Q: Is a TIMBERPEG ® home more expensive than a conventionally-built home?
A: In our experience, post-and-beam homes average 15-20 percent more than homes built in developments. However, the cost of a TIMBERPEG ® home is comparable to that of most custom-designed homes.
